The Men Pairs sponsored by Richard Pilling was the last thrilling contest to wrap up the weeks bowling, with the semi-finals and final taking place at West End. Richard Helliwell and Paul Turner claimed the trophy, after pulling off a stunning comeback in their semi-final against Gareth Swain and David Astin. Swain and Astin seemed to have the game in the bag when they had a 10-3 and 14-9 lead, but Helliwell and Turner showed amazing resilience and skill, scoring threes on the final two ends to steal the win by 15-14. In the final, they faced Martin Greenwood and Darren Hickey, who put up a good fight but could not match Helliwell and Turner's superb performance on the longer length. Helliwell and Turner scored twelve points in a row to seal the victory by 15-2.
