The season of the Halifax Bowling Association ended on Sunday with the semi-finals and finals of its Four Person Knock Out competitions.
The Tuesday 4-Person sponsored by Linda Stewart was held at West End. The semi-finalists were Hill Crest 'D', Hipperholme 'A', Ripponden Park and King Cross 'A'. Ripponden and Hipperholme advanced to the final.
Ripponden had to give nine start to Hipperholme, but they quickly erased the gap. Paul Holden scored a break of ten to beat Adrian Megson 21-10 and put Ripponden ahead. Tom Robertshaw added a 21-14 win over Nigel Parker. Matthew Parker tried to keep Hipperholme in the game as he led Nick Oddy 9-3 and 15-8, but Oddy came back with breaks of eight and five to win 21-19. Simon Robinson sealed the victory for Ripponden with a 21-16 win over Nigel Broadhead. Ripponden won the Trophy by 91-75.
At Pellon, the Thursday 4-Person sponsored by PPL Windows and Doors was contested by Clayton Victoria Park 'A' Siddal Park 'C', Mytholmroyd 'B' and Luddendenfoot 'B'
Siddal Park 'C' and Mytholmroyd 'B' made it to the final. Siddal had a one start advantage, but it was not enough. Kieran Bannister was the star for Mytholmroyd as he defeated Martin Greenwood 21-3. Tony Bannister also won for Mytholmroyd, beating Brendan Malone 21-12. Siddal's winners were David Helliwell, who recovered from 6-14 to beat Danny Barker 21-19, and Martin Steele, who beat Clive Austin 21-14. Mytholmroyd claimed the title by 72-59.
