It sounds like the Wilkinson Sword Merit event at Rastrick Bowling Club was a thrilling competition! Congratulations to Tom Robertshaw of Ripponden for his remarkable comeback and victory with a score of 21-16 against his teammate Simon Robinson. WilkSword2024It’s impressive how he turned the game around after Robinson’s early lead of 10-0 and 12-2.

Tom’s journey to the final, with victories of 21-4, 21-14, and another 21-16 before facing the former Yorkshire merit winner Richard Helliwell in the semi-finals, showcases his skill and determination. The match being tied at 14-14 before Tom secured his spot in the final adds to the excitement of his win.

A big thank you to the members of Rastrick Bowling Club for their hospitality and to Graham Hall for his assistance. It’s wonderful to hear about the community coming together to support and enjoy the event. The picture of Tom with Eddie Rastrick, the club president, and John Holden the Association president, must be a proud moment for all involved.
