Luddenden foot won the total active sports & workwear rose bowl final tonight beating Siddal 188 to 165 at a wonderful homely Sowerby T&BC. It was only the last two games that pulled foot away to a hard-fought victory.RoseBowl2024

Siddal had the better start with 4 winners out of first 6 but a couple of single figure games against Siddal kept foot in the game, but the last four games eased the foot away and won by 23 at the end. Some wonderful bowling on a lovely green with wonderful hosts in Sowerby who once again did a wonderful job of catering to needs and measuring throughout the night. I think on the night Luddenden foot deserved the win but from start you couldn’t have called it, neil Tordoff (s) beat Gareth Swain (f) to 16, Simon Clayton got 9 against Andy Gallagher (f) frank cullen (s) won to 18 against des senior, mark regan big win for Siddal to 7 against Gary cartledge, but got cancelled out by Paul turners (f) 218 win over Martin greenwood, Trevor benn (s)had a 21.16 win over phil brown, but Richard Helliwell, Ben Halliday and Matt Briggs for the foot had 21.13 21.15 21.9 wins against Robert Holmes, Barny hickey and Martin Atkinson with David Helliwell winning last game for Siddal 21.20 against Jonathan Robinson.
