Richard helliwell of old town bc emerged as winner of the halifax champion of champions sponsored by bluebird care held at elland ca&bc last Sunday. Richard beat mark Regan of brighouse sports in a sea saw epic battle. Considering there been no bowling since the covid started, the final was a fantastic encounter that went one way then the other.richard opened up a 7.0 lead,only for mark to hit back with a 11 break to lead 11.7.a single to Richard and then mark had a 6 break to lead 17.8 then 18.9 only for Richard to have a 12 break to win the match 21.18.bowling some classic bowling in the corners.
Richard started the day with a 21.8 win against mark jeffreys then a 21.4 success against David Warburton, and a semi final win of 21.8 against Simon Robinson. In lovely sunshine with a snow storm for 20 mins,we saw some brilliant bowling considering there been no bowling during covid 19
