The Sowerby Bridge 4 Person Knockout competition comes to its conclusion at West End on 20th September at 1pm, with 4 of the top Teams and players in action.
Hipperholme got through a tough quarter final on paper against West End at King Cross by 12 Points in the end winning by 80-68, which got them into the Semi finals against Mytholmroyd BC who had a comfortable win against Ripponden B 88-68.
In the other quarter finals Sowerby T&BC set up a semi final encounter with Pellon A, they beat Alan Park B, while Pellon comfortable beat Hove Edge A.

The 76th Berry Hey charity handicap and a supplementary Berry Hey plate, started out with the qualifying rounds on weds and Thursday night, at hove edge bowling club, with first round losers going into the supplementary plate and qualifiers going into the main event on Sunday at 1pm at hove edge.
The main event of the berry hey was won by Simon Leeming with a 21.18 success in the final against Bailey Dawson of Akroydon Victoria. It was an epic final with quality bowling throughout. And very close throughout, 5. apiece, 8 apiece 10 apiece 15 a piece then Bailey took the lead at 17.15. Only for Bailey to lose his length and allowed Simon to take advantage and run out a 21.18 win.
The day started out for Simon with a hard game against Andrew Gallagher.

Covid 19 Sadly a bowler has tested positive in our area at a recent event.
The host club sent in a risk assessment and are following guidelines and protocols, they are implementing track and trace. This shows the importance of the guidelines issued by BCGBA and YCCGBA.

Elland C&BC V Akroydon Victoria in the first semi final whilst in the other Elland WMC V Brighouse. Akroydon Victoria played Pellon social club in a very tight match with Akroydon the victor by 1 point.
In the other Quarter finals Brighouse were victors over Mytholmroyd to seal their place in the Semi, Which set up a mouth watering match against Division 1 champions Elland WMC.
Another tough match for Elland C&BC against Ripponden set up the other semi final against Akroydon Victoria.
